Abbott Pima Analyser T-Lymphocyte Counter for CD4 Point-of-Care Testing

The Abbott Pima T-Lymphocyte Counter is a specialized medical device that employs fluorescence immunoimaging technology to detect T-helper cells in whole blood specimens. This T-lymphocyte counter offers a rapid and accurate method for counting CD4 cells.

When using this Abbott Pima T-Lymphocyte Counter, insert the test cartridge into the counter. The blood sample inside the cartridge then reacts with the reagent freeze-dried powder. The sample reacts with CD3+ and CD4+ specific monoclonal antibodies, which are bound to fluorescent dyes with different excitation wavelengths.

As the blood enters the detection channel, cells displaying two different wavelengths of fluorescence are counted in the detection channel. The CD4 cell count result is then calculated by dividing the number of counted cells by the volume of the detection channel, and is displayed in cells per microliter. This Abbott Pima T-Lymphocyte Counter provides a reliable and efficient solution for T-lymphocyte counting in clinical settings.
