Bordered Hydrocolloid Dressing
Hydrocolloid dressing with a pressed, thin edge.
Product Overview
A bordered hydrocolloid dressing features a pressed, thin edge design that enhances adhesion by conforming closely to the skin. This superior seal prevents edge lifting and maintains an optimal moist healing environment, making it ideal for managing wounds with light to moderate exudate in both chronic and acute wound care.
Key Advantages
  • Enhanced Adhesion: The pressed edge design ensures secure placement even on mobile areas, reducing the need for frequent dressing changes.
  • Gentle Removal: Can be removed without disturbing new tissue growth, providing comfort for sensitive wounds.
  • Extended Wear Time: High absorbency allows for longer wear periods, minimizing disruption to the wound site.
  • Comfort and Flexibility: Thin, flexible edges conform to body contours, making it comfortable for use on joints and high-mobility areas.

Applications
  • Chronic Wounds: Suitable for pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, and venous leg ulcers.
  • Reduced Pain and Trauma: Ideal for surgical wounds, abrasions, and minor burns.
  • Superficial and Partial-Thickness Wounds: Designed for wounds with light to moderate exudate.
  • High-Friction Areas: Effective for protecting blisters and minor injuries in areas prone to friction, such as feet and joints.
How To Use
  1. Clean the wound area: Use sterile water or saline solution to gently clean the wound and surrounding skin. Pat the area dry with a sterile cloth or gauze to ensure it is ready for dressing application.
  2. Select the dressing size: Choose a bordered hydrocolloid dressing that provides at least a 1-2 cm border around the wound for proper coverage and adhesion.
  3. Apply the dressing: Remove the backing from the dressing, center it over the wound, and gently press it down, starting from the center and moving outward to ensure even adhesion. Carefully smooth the bordered edges onto the surrounding skin for a secure fit.
  4. Seal the edges: Run your fingers around the edges to ensure a tight seal and eliminate any air bubbles. This helps prevent the dressing from lifting and keeps contaminants out.
  5. Monitor and replace as needed: Check the wound regularly for signs of infection, such as redness or swelling. Change the dressing if it becomes saturated or begins to peel at the edges.
  6. Gently remove the dressing: To remove, lift one corner and slowly peel it off, supporting the skin as you go. This helps avoid irritation and damage to healing tissue.
